Victoria, British Columbia - Mystic Tan Canada, Inc., announced today that it recently installed its new Mystic Tan™ UV-free tanning booths at two of Arizona Tan's six locations, the two locations are as follows: 2291 Yonge street, Toronto and 74 Quarry Edge, Brampton. Arizona Tan is the first and at present, the only place in Ontario where this revolutionary new super-fast tanning process is available.

Mystic Tan™ is a full-body artificial tanning process that utilizes new technology to create a uniform, natural-looking tan in just minutes.

For years, cosmetic companies such as Clinique, Estee Lauder, and Revlon have marketed sunless tanning creams, lotions, and sprays. Consumers spend millions of dollars every year using these alternatives tanning products.

All of these products have one specific ingredient in common - dihydroxyacetone (DHA). DHA is the principle ingredient in all of these products because it is the ingredient that creates the tanning effect. DHA is a simple molecule that has been used in food and cosmetics for several decades. When applied to the skin, DHA reacts with proteins in the skin's superficial layer to form a golden-brown color. The "tan" lasts an average of five to seven days, the time it takes the skin to naturally exfoliate.

In the past, sunless tanning lotions gave many individuals an unnatural orange colour, dried slowly, and caused streaking. However, the latest generation of sunless tanning lotions darkens skin realistically, producing golden-brown tans.

The Mystic Tan™ is a full-body, DHA tanning process that utilizes a new-patented MagneTan^SM technology. The tanner simply enters the Mystic Tan™ room, disrobes and steps into the booth. Once the booth is activated, the Mystic Tan solution passes through specially designed Mystic Tan™ misting nozzles and is attracted to the user's body by MagneTan^SM technology. When the tanning process is finished the user simply steps out of the booth, towel dries any remaining mist, dresses, and exits. The result is a uniform, natural-looking tan in just minutes.

MagneTan^SM is a revolutionary process that allows the Mystic Tan™ booth to apply a uniform amount of solution to all parts of the body. As the solution passes through the "misting" nozzles, the particles of solution are polarized taking on the characteristics of "tiny magnets". MagneTan^SM technology then uses the body's own magnetic properties to attract the solution particles to the skin. The result is a perfectly uniform, natural-looking tan.

The first Mystic Tan™ prototype was installed in a Palm Beach Tan Superstore in Dallas, Texas on April of 1998 with two additional prototypes installed in October of 1998 and June of 1999. The customer reviews were very positive. Customers included a mix of regular indoor tanners that used the system to compliment their UV tans, and customers who are not able to tan due to skin conditions.

Mystic Tan Canada has just launched into Ontario with Arizona Tan being the first of dozens of installations to take place in 2002.
